CHARACTER AGE: Unknown, approx. 35
CANON ORIGIN: Justice League: Gods and Monsters
CHRONOLOGY: Post-movie
CLASS: Hero
HOUSING: No preference
BACKGROUND:
Justice League: Gods and Monsters background
Kirk background
PERSONALITY:
Like any good, self-respecting Batman, Kirk has dark and brooding in spades, and is constantly called out by people he considers friends and allies about it (as any Bat should). That, however, is where most of the similarities end.
Kirk's version of Batman, unlike most main universe & elseworlds versions, is not someone satisfied with just putting the fear into the criminal underworld, he'll kill without compunction. 10 years as the loyal right hand of a Superman who believes it's the job of the Justice League to make the world a better place by whatever means necessary will do that to a man, especially one who has, up until that point in his life, had faced near constant rejection from those he cared about.
This cycle of rejection, from his parents to his high school girlfriend to someone he considered a close friend, has led the naturally withdrawn and introverted Kirk to define himself by the people around him. This isn't to say that he changes his personality to suit his social circle, but rather it alters how he views his confidence and self-worth. If the people around him believe in him, he's more apt to believe in himself, but if they doubt him, he quickly finds himself doubting if he has any value.
Since Kirk has known Hernan for over ten years, and been with the Justice League since its formation from anywhere from a year to 7 years (depending on the length of Amanda Waller's presidency), he's become more assertive and self-assure than he's ever been in the past, though he's far from being stable. He knows that he's the weakest link of the three of them, both physically and mentally, and so he pushes himself to be the brains of the operation, learning everything he can about computers, being the one to investigate (to call him a detective might be stretch), and to keep a meticulous watch on the public's perception of them, as he knows that that in particular is a sore subject for both Hernan and Bekka, much as they try to deny it, believing that it will make him more useful (and to a larger more subconscious extent, wanted).
It isn't that Kirk really has to try that hard to be smart, despite the fact he feels that he has to push himself. He's a gifted scientist who graduated near the top of his class at Gotham University, was a member of Luthor's Boys, an informal group of the University's top, brightest minds, and nearly discovered the cure for a type of Lymphoma in his 20s. He's driven and unafraid to try new or out-of-the-box solutions to approach a problem. The problem is he doesn't see himself in that light, and probably never will thanks to his self-esteem issues.
Another thing that others can see in Kirk but he's unable to see in himself is the fact that he's deeply loyal. He would, in a heartbeat, go to hell itself if it meant fighting for someone he cared for. Even after he's betrayed by someone close to him, he still can't help but try and remember the good in who they were on top of the evils they might have done. It partly stems from his desire to connect with people who won't eventually betray him, but moreso from the fact that's who he is; he cares passionately about people, even if they don't return that affection.
Kirk also possesses a dry, sarcastic brand of humor that he will whip out to diffuse a tense situation, or whenever he's pissed off and violence alone isn't cutting it. This isn't to say that he's a quipping machine, but he's good for a sarcastic one-liner every now and again.
Though he's the only one of the three in the Justice League to have ever been truly human, he feels at this point he's lost that humanity as he's become completely numb to and normalize the copious (and frankly gratuitous) amounts of violence they leave in their wake... and is just starting to think about whether or not he wants it back.
POWER:
Pseudo-Vampirism - As a result of the injection, Kirk has, for all intents and purposes, turned into a vampire. He has retractable fangs, the desire to drink blood, and is cold to the touch. His eyes can see much better than a baseline human in the dark at the expense of being super sensitive to light, to the point where he requires use use of special red-lens goggles in order to see properly in daylight (though unlike some vampire lore, he can walk around in the sunlight just fine). His new vision also allows him to see heat signatures inside a living being's body.
He also has increased strength (shown to be able to toss a large robot clear across a room and punch a hole through a terrorist's chest), agility (able to easily flip around and dodge laser blasts as well as bullets), and durability (able to be tossed around, smashed through glass, knocked up against a concrete wall and falling a significant height without sustaining any major injuries).
Finally, he has a very mild healing factor, as the nanites in his system did actually cure him of his lymphoma, though it won't instantaneously heal a hole in his chest or anything like that.

COMMUNITY POST (VOICE) SAMPLE:
[The bat's red goggles glint in the sunlight as he adjusts the camera to better frame his face. A solitary fang pops out of the side of his mouth as he grunts his displeasure at having to do this at all.]
I've been informed this is a long shot, but I'm going to try it anyway. This is Batman of the Justice League looking for Superman and Wonder Woman. If you're here, come find me.
[He tilts the camera slightly to give Bekka and Hernan (if they're here) a better idea of wherever the hell he is before going to turn the communicator off, only to decide against it at the last minute.]
Where can I find more information about this place and this whole... imPort situation?
LOGS POST (PROSE) SAMPLE:
Even before he sent the message, Kirk knew that he was alone. No matter what he might tell himself, the message had been for his benefit alone, to cut off any sort of hope that Hernan or Bekka might be in this strange new place with him before it bloomed. He had to face reality: that he was, for the first time in years, all by himself. It made him almost yearn for the sensation of a normal pulse for the first time in years, so he could feel it rising with his anxiety rather than be stuck with a tightening ball in his gut. The area he was in--Heropa?--was far too crowded, and everyone that walked past smelled increasingly delicious.
Kirk unfurled the wings under his arms and took flight, not stopping until he was high above the city, far from civilization. His back was pressed up against an air conditioning unit, his feet tucked tight underneath him as he hugged his knees to his chest.
"Pathetic," he muttered to himself as he gazed out at the unfamiliar skyline.
This reminded him too much of the time he met Hernan--down on the docks of Gotham harbor, hiding from the world with a rat in his mouth. He was alone then too. Hernan might not think so, but he only reason he got through that situation was because Hernan was there for him.
He'd have to figure out how to get through this situation on his own.
In... a few minutes.
FINAL NOTES:
In addition to his vampiric abilities above, he is a Batman, and so he possesses strong computer skills as well as pretty strong hand-to-hand combat skills, with his form leaning heavily into boxing and jiu-jitsu, though not formally in either case.
And of course he has a Batsuit - No Batman worth his salt doesn't have a cool batsuit. In Kirk's case, he tends to eschew the typical bells and whistles for a sleek black and white suit with no cape and longer, pointier ears. His suit also has retractable wings under the arms and special boots that allow for full flight. In one of the pockets there's has a flash drive designed to look like Kirk.
